Yvonne A. Barry, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Barry graduated with a Ph.D. In cardiac physiology in 1988 and received her medical degree from Toronto, Canada in 1992. She and her family came to Las Vegas in 1993 where she completed her residency in Family Practice at University Center. She obtained her Board Certification in 1996 and re-certified in 2004.
She has practiced in Las Vegas for the past for the past 18 years and her scope of family practice encompasses sports medicine, women’s health, adult medicine, geriatrics as well as mental health issues. She has been the on call doctor for Cirque du Solei, an advocate for women’s cardiovascular health and has provided care for the geriatric community through her on call services in the greater Las Vegas area.
She is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Association, and American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Barry is active in the Las Vegas community by volunteering for a non-profit corporation called Create A Change which promotes and provides edible gardens for elementary schools in Las Vegas and has served as a volunteer for the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. In her spare time Dr. Barry loves to spend time with her family skiing, snowboarding, cycling as well as hiking. She is an avid reader and takes an interest in promoting her patients’ health through preventative measures such as optimizing nutrition, exercise and stress relief.
In 2009 Dr. Barry was voted one of the top 100 family practice M.D. In the US.
